- IAC Study Sheds New Light on the Differing Requirements for Experience Credit. Are you interested in becoming a professionally licensed engineer? A recent survey of IAC alumni found that 50% are either Engineers-In-Training, or registered Professional Engineers (PE). In today’s fast-paced world, licensure is important for engineers and many companies expect their engineers to become licensed as they progress professionally. Licensure can bring job security, a higher salary and management opportunities. In many states, IAC alumni may be able to expedite the licensure process by claiming up to 1 year of IAC experience towards the 3 or 4 year professional experience requirement.
